Built in Nigeria.
Serving the world.
A WordPress development studio that's quietly been doing Production-grade work at founder-friendly prices for 13 years — across three cities, eleven countries, and every kind of project a growth-stage brand can throw at us.
It started in
Port Harcourt. 2013.
Shabtech began as a small team of developers building WordPress sites for Nigerian businesses who were being overcharged by foreign agencies and underserved by freelancers. We'd seen the gap and we had the skills to close it.
Thirteen years later, we're still here — bigger, spread across Port Harcourt, Lagos, and Abuja, serving clients in eleven countries across Africa, Europe, and the Americas. But the mission hasn't changed: build the kind of WordPress work that bigger agencies charge 5× for, at prices that actually make sense.
We've never raised capital. We've never pivoted to no-code. We've never chased the trend-of-the-month. We've just gotten quietly, incrementally better at the one thing we do — building websites that earn their keep — year after year after year.
That's the whole story. There's no clever founder narrative. There's no disruption thesis. There's just thirteen years of shipping work we'd be proud to put our name on, for clients who come back.
Six things we've
learned the hard way.
These aren't aspirational values plastered on a wall. They're decisions we make every week, each earned through a specific mistake we don't plan to repeat.
Websites are infrastructure.
A site isn't a brochure — it's the engine of your business. We build accordingly. Every decision gets weighed against one question: will this make our client more money than the last version did?
Speed is non-negotiable.
Every second of load time costs 7% in conversions. We don't ship sites that hit 60 on Lighthouse and call it good. We target 98+ on mobile and we stay on the project until we get it.
Clients deserve ownership.
We hand over full code, full credentials, full training. You can walk away any time. Our retention comes from being worth keeping — not from holding your site hostage.
Transparent beats clever.
Published rates. Itemised proposals. Fixed-fee projects. No "call us for a quote" games. If a competitor is better for your project, we'll tell you. Clients remember honesty longer than they remember discounts.
Small team, real humans.
You get a WhatsApp line to your lead developer. Not a ticket system. Not a support alias. A person who knows your site intimately and cares whether it works. That's the whole difference.
Launch is not the end.
Most agencies disappear at go-live. We stay for 90 days of active iteration on every build — watching analytics, fixing edge cases, tuning conversion. That's when the real work begins.
A seven-phase process.
Every time. No exceptions.
We run the same process on a $3,500 build as we do on a $15,000 custom platform. The scale changes. The rigour doesn't.
Discovery
A 30-minute fit-finding call. No sales pitch. We decide together whether we're a match before anything else happens.
Consultation & Strategy
Deep-dive call plus a written brief covering competitors, audience, technical scope, and preliminary recommendation. Before you pay a naira.
Proposal
Transparent, itemised, fixed-fee. Core scope clearly separated from optional add-ons. You know the bill before you sign.
Onboarding & Kickoff
Dedicated PM, shared Notion workspace, weekly syncs, direct WhatsApp line to your lead developer.
Design & Development
Design mockups first, then hand-coded builds. Live staging URL, weekly Friday Loom walkthroughs. No black-box phase.
Launch & Training
Zero-downtime migration. Full Loom-recorded training. Your team owns the site from day one — no calling us to publish a blog post.
Iterate & Grow
Active tuning, analytics review, conversion optimisation. Most agencies ghost you at launch. We stay.
Three offices.
Eleven time zones.
Port Harcourt is where Shabtech started and where our core engineering team still sits. Lagos is where most client meetings happen and where our design leads are based. Abuja handles enterprise and government-adjacent work.
From those three cities we serve clients in eleven countries across Africa, Europe, and the Americas. That's not a vanity stat — it means we understand the specific technical and business realities of building for multiple markets simultaneously. Paystack and Stripe. Naira and pounds. Lagos hours and London hours.
Our WhatsApp response is usually faster than a US agency's email reply. That's not an accident — it's how we compete.
Ambitious people
building real things.
SaaS founders
Marketing sites that convert, documentation hubs that rank, pricing pages that don't leak revenue. We understand SaaS because we build it ourselves.
DTC & fashion brands
WooCommerce builds that feel like Shopify, load like a magazine, and don't take 2.9% of every sale forever. Built for African payments and global reach.
Educators & course creators
LMS builds on Tutor LMS, LearnDash, or custom. Multi-currency, video-native, community-aware. Built so your team can publish without calling us.
Creators & public figures
Editorial-quality WordPress sites that survive viral moments, with publishing workflows your team actually uses and brand partnership surfaces built in.
Established companies
Enterprise WordPress and WooCommerce for companies that have outgrown their current site. Custom plugin development, multi-language, system integrations.
Agencies & consultancies
Professional service firms that want a site that matches the quality of their work. Thought-leadership structured for search, booking flows that convert.
If any of that
sounds like your kind of team...
Book a call. 30 minutes. No slides. We'll tell you whether we're a fit for each other, honestly, in one conversation.
